In-group social learning

The module presents the in-group social learning method, which is mainly used in small group meetings, but can also be used in pairs.

This method was developed by Jože Ramovš and his team at the Anton Trstenjak Institute of Gerontology and Intergenerational Relations primary for the fields of holistic health prevention, ageing and education of family carers. The following section describes the main objectives of this way of working and the conditions that need to be met for the group to work successfully.

It is a module that is facilitated by 1-2 group leaders. The main activity is a facilitated discussion and mutual exchange of experiences, where the principle of »we are all students and all teachers« applies.

In the module you will learn what it takes to organise a small group of older people and what additional activities can be added to enrich the meeting.

With this method you can organise limited number of meetings or you can meet regularly throughout the year, depending on the purpose and objectives of your group meetings.
