The main problem of older people is their marginalization after retirement and the risk of social exclusion. The project ISP Evergreen included social researchers classified into three categories: veterans (pensioners) – who worked in social protection, seniors – currently active in social protection institutions and juniors – interns and social science students.

The main goal of this intergenerational project was to bring together older, retired social researchers with the aim of socializing and exchange of experiences with younger colleagues, so that they, based on the principles of self-help and self-organization, engage their potential to create initiatives, proposals and volunteer contributions with the aim of improvement of support for older people in Belgrade municipality. The central project activity was the organization of regular intergenerational social events in “ISP Evergreen Club” with three program segments (“Time Machine”, “Current Affairs” and “Venturi”) based on the affinities of club members – veterans, seniors and juniors.

The most important outcome was the positive results of intergenerational cooperation and activating potential of older persons in the “Time Machine” program, as well as participation in social and public events that promote active ageing. An excellent result is the high participation of juniors (40%) and outstanding cooperation and exchange between veterans and young people.
